Android 7.1.1 rolling out to Nexus and Pixel devices

App shortcuts offer quick access to key actions and are brought up by long pressing on the icon from wherever in the launcher. Gboard-like features are making their way into Android with image keyboards that enable for GIF search and entry as well. New emoji, enhanced live wallpaper support, as well as improved VR performance are some other features that we are to enjoy with this update.

As 7.1 was available on the Pixel since October, a number of developers have already updated their apps in order to support the new features. All the major services of Google and some third-party apps have shortcuts. In addition, Google Keyboard has support for GIFs in Hangouts and Messenger.
