At Microsoft Ignite, the company demonstrated how it is imparting AI (artificial intelligence) across the firm to help its customers.Focusing on building an AI stack covering infrastructure, apps, services, and agents and reaching consumers, enterprises, developers, the company’s approach to this shift is to democratize AI and to make it within the reach of all.
AI everywhere
Microsoft’s AI is coming up with tools in order to make it simpler for its professionals who have got their hands full, to remember their commitments, family members from other parts of the world to communicate with one another regardless of language barriers, and multitasking smartphone users to send texts faster. The company is also offering businesses with the tools they must have in order to incorporate intelligence into every product they make.
Formation of a new group
Today, a new group was announced by Microsoft that will help take this evolution to the next level. The new group will provide greater opportunity to accelerate Microsoft’s innovation in AI (Artificial Intelligence). It will enable the company to create truly intelligent systems and products for its customers. The group will include Microsoft Research and its Information Platform Group, Bing and Cortana product teams, as well as its Ambient Computing and Robotics group. Together, they will make over 5,000 engineers and computer scientists.
Artificial Intelligence is changing the computer science research supply chain
AI is basically blurring lines between research and product. End-to-end innovation in Artificial intelligence will not come only from isolated research labs; it will come from the grouping of at-scale production workloads together with technology innovations in systems, algorithms as well as experiences.
Taking Microsoft Research to the next level
25 years ago, when Bill Gates created Microsoft Research (MSR), it was the very first work that focused on AI. Since then, the company has invested in AI research, pushing the limits of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and related fields. Recently, MSR set new standards for both speech and image recognition using deep learning.Tools such as Skype Translator and the Cortana virtual assistant would have been impossible without investment in machine learning, speech recognition and natural language processing. Now, Cortana has millions of customers. In business, Cortana Intelligence Suite allows people to benefit from research and Bing innovations to create products that can provide added security, judge the emotional condition of people, and recognize the environs around.
The latest in AI by Microsoft
Microsoft announced its latest advances in groundwork this week, providing an AI (Artificial Intelligence) supercomputer in the cloud. Its, CNTK, (deep learning toolkit for developers) is allowing its consumers to build AI models on this infrastructure much more efficiently.
