Nvidia Shield Pro is now available with extra storage
Soon after the launch of the standard Nvidia Shield TV, the company has started shipping of the Nvidia Shield Pro, an upgraded model with a big 500GB hard drive. What makes the Shield Pro really different? Well, there is not much other than storage. It still runs Android TV with Nvidia’s custom perks, and has the same remote and controller. But it does get a noteworthy increase in size to make room for the full-size hard drive inside, unlike the flash storage in the standard Shield.

The additional storage can be useful considering some of the games for the Shield can take gigabytes sometimes, compelling users of the standard Shield to do something to increase their storage. The extra storage is even more beneficial for active Plex users. The Shield TV can work as a Plex server, which means that 500GB of storage leaves lot of space for all your movies and TV shows. The upgraded model will not cost you much as well, it is coming in at only $299 and is now available for shipping from Best Buy, Nvidia’s own store, Amazon, B&H, and other online retailers.
In addition, Nvidia announced 2 new free additions to its GeForce Now service ─ Just Cause 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. While the former is available today for all GeForce Now users the latter will be available during the coming week.
