Huawei Mate 9 is now official

Huawei has unveiled Mate 9, its latest flagship Android smartphone, officially today. A forerunner of Mate 8, this latest phone has improved specifications and an exciting all new camera and EMUI 5.0 – the much awaited refurbishment of the company’s software. The phone features many wonderful features that makes it a smart choice for users who wish to have a great handset.
Mate 9 Specifications
The Mate 9 features a 5.9-inch display with a 1080p IPS panel in 2.5D glass. It has 156.9mm x 78.9mm x 7.9mm. The body of the Mate 9 is available in 5 colors including: Ceramic White, Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Mocha Brown and Champagne Gold. The phone has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 4,000 mAh battery, USB C, and Bluetooth 4.2. Huawei has packed the new built-in-house Kirin 960 octa-core chipset and the Mali-G71 MP8 GPU in addition to an i6 co-processor.
A spectacular camera
The latest smartphone from Huawei comes with a dual-camera on the rear having a standard 12MP camera with f/2.2 and a 20MP monochrome sensor. The camera has a “Hybrid Zoom” feature that looks similar to Apple’s dual-camera on the iPhone 7 Plus. You get OIS and 4K video capture as well. The front facing sensor is an 8MP f/1.9 sensor as well.
Android Nougat
This phone by Huawei packs Android Nougat out of the box with EMUI 5.0 as well. In addition, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Availability
At the moment, the Mate 9 will be available in China, Germany, France, Italy, Thailand and Japan. If you are in Kuwait, Malaysia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain or UAE you will be able to get your hands on this phone as well. As for the US market, the phone is expected to be available in near future.
The Porsche Design Edition – the Limited Edition Mate 9
Huawei has also unveiled a Mate 9 variant ─ the Porsche Design Edition. This limited edition Mate 9 is designed together with Porsche. The Porsche Design Mate 9 has a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display. Its smaller display makes it look lighter and thinner. The processor package, dual-camera system, and software is in this model but there are 2 changes. The phone brings 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Then there is price difference. This limited edition phone will be sold only in Porsche Design Stores starting December 2016 in Europe for €1,395 while it will be available around the world in the coming year excluding US.
