Apple increases tvOS app size limit to 4GB

Apple stated in a post to its developer webpage that developers can now include extra media in App Store submissions to provide users a richer experience out of the box with the enhanced data allowance.

other than larger main bundle sizes, Apple notes tvOS apps can still make use of on-demand resources to host up to 20GB of extra content to the App Store. These on-demand assets are dynamically downloaded to your Apple TV in the background and removed when not required.
The on-demand feature gives developers the power to distantly store infrequently used resources as well such as app tutorials, as well as content related to in-app purchases. For instance, game levels, may be hosted on demand from App Store servers.
Earlier Apple limited tvOS app bundles to 200MB, with remaining assets supplied through on-demand resources, in an effort to streamline downloads and save space on storage-constrained Apple TV set-top boxes. Fourth-generation Apple TVs at present max out at 64GB of onboard storage.
