Co-sponsored by Maison Valentino, H&M, Condé Nast and Farfetch, 2017 Met Gala will be held on May 1. Chairs will include various pop icons including Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams as well as Anna Wintour (Vogue editor), and Rei Kawabuko (a fashion designer). Kawabuko’s work will be the theme for the event.
Apple embedding with the fashion industry
After announcing the Apple Watch back in 2014, Apple has gradually tried to be a part of the fashion world. For example, the Watch has been sold in a number of boutiques. The company gave out its first-generation models to celebs such as Beyonce and Williams. Some devices featured custom all-gold link bands.
Apple devices have become a fashion statement
Under Angela Ahrendts (former Burberry CEO), Apple stores have switched over to a style-oriented look. Interestingly, even iPhone has emerged as a fashion device having an array of colors like the iPhone 7's jet black. This particular device is so trendy that it requires much longer to ship compared to other handsets.
