Spotify Free ads have reported to be launching malware on all platforms. Platforms such as Safari on MAC are also included. Interestingly, this issue has not occurred for the first time. Back in 2011, similar problem took place and the company apologized for the matter. And now, again, we see multi reports that confirm malware through the company’s free ads.
Spotify trying to spot the problem
In its support forum, Spotify has replied to a report explaining that it has an investigating team which is working on the issue at present.
A cross-platform issue?
While the initial report was on a Windows 10 machine, the following reports propose that it is a cross-platform issue which is affecting macOS and Linux machines as well.
Spotify vs. Apple Music
In case the problem is confirmed, it will not be anything for good for Spotify’s race with Apple Music. The recent subscriber statistics express that the growth of the company is outpacing that of Apple Music, the reason is its head-start giving it a higher base. As it appears, Apple seems to have a little edge in percentage advancement.
Apple and Spotify have been involved in a public war regarding the issue if the firm is anti-competitively preferring its own streaming service or not. Let us see if Spotify Free ads is able to trace the problem and how soon it can solve it.
