Backup Magic is a simple fast and compact backupfile copy utility for power users and system administrators (it is not designed for people who have limited knowledge about computer file system). It is not meant for full system backup and does not have loads of options but it includes all of the tools required to get your daily backup jobs done fast and easy. Backup Magic copies new or modified files (you can specify includeexclude masks) from selected folders to another location that can be another folder network drive zip disk or whatever writeable device you see in Windows Explorer. Even making a backup to a CD-R(W) or DVD-R(W) disk is not a problem if you have packet-writing software like Adaptec DirectCD running. You can make multiple groups and specify several file filtering options request log file generation use incremental or mirror copy mode and much more. Additionally you can use variables in destination folder names so you can automatically generate folder names with current datetimeday (like Backup of Monday AM) - useful for keeping version history by date.Backup Magic contains a unique separate lightweight 32-bit console-mode executable that can be used on Windows NT2000XP Server to make automated scheduled (using AT or Scheduled Tasks) backups in the background. That allows you to copybackup data from workstations to a server automatically so you save employees from making backup themselves.
