Honor is the affordable babe of Huawei, which is launching another great budget-minded smartphone to the US and Europe. The Honor 6X was launched in China in 2016 and now it is available in other parts of the world such as Europe and the US. The phones features a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, octa-core Kirin 655 SoC, as well as a dual-camera system for sharper pictures. Regardless of Honor's claim that the Honor 6X "is the smartphone for Internet-minded millennials", these specs are impressive specs for a phone that is priced at $250/£225/.
Other than the Kirin 655 SoC with four A53 cores running at 2.1GHz and four running at 1.7GHz, Honor 6X features, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage with microSD expansion. There is a hefty 3340mAh battery which lasts as many as 2 days. In addition, there's 5V/2A fast charging support as well as a fingerprint scanner along with a 12MP camera and 2MP camera. The device uses the smaller sensor to aid focus alongside a more traditional Phase Detection Autofocus Technology (PDAF) system in addition to allowing for changing the focal point after shooting for a number bokeh effects.

The 5.5-inch display very bright and vibrant which is another great thing about this device. While there is nothing outstanding when it comes to the design of Honor 6X, it is good enough with its aluminum and bit curved glass, which gives it a classy touch.
But like the other Honor and Huawei's device, Honor 6X makes use of uses Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1 that sits on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We to get an update to EMUI with Android 7.0 in 2017. EMUI basically endows Android with something of an iOS-like look, complete with lots of glossy icons.
Even though the presence of EMUI makes it tough to recommend more costly phones such as the Huawei P9 or the Honor 8, it is the affordable price of the 6X that makes it much easier for it to make up for software shortcomings. The interface seems to be somewhat weird, but you do get complete access to the Play Store and Google apps out of the box with EMUI.
The Honor 6X is now on sale in the UK, Europe as well as US via Amazon or through Honor's vMall online outlet. You can get the device in a range of color choices including silver, grey and gold.
